Karmelo Rocha Chuve

Karmelo was one of the first males to apply to our Proyecto Oportunidad program.  Karmelo grew up in a rural area. His dad was a farmer, and his mom took care of the rest of his 4 siblings.  They were able to send him to high school, but no further.  Karmelo wanted to go to university, but not so that he could eventually get a job in a city.  Karmelo loved the country and wanted to study something that would enable him to work and live in the country for the rest of his life.

We enrolled Karmelo in an agriculture engineering degree program.  While Karmelo studied in university, he also participated in our Integral Education program, including volunteering at a local orphanage.  Also while in university, Karmelo made sure that he regularly returned to his rural town to help care for his parents and siblings.

As soon as Karmelo graduated, he moved back to the country.  He immediately got a job at a large agri-business in the town he grew up in.  While most men in the town worked only as farm hands, Karmelo was now advising and supervising projects.

Karmelo works in agri-business to this day.  He is married and has two beautiful little girls whom he calls his “princesses.”  Karmelo is able to provide well for his wife and his children, including their education.  Karmelo’s life and his family’s life were changed for the better and forever because of the education and love made possible by KTF.

“I am grateful for the economic and moral support that I received from Mission Keep the Faith.  Because of it, I was able to have a profession and achieve my goal of helping my family.  Through my earnings, I built a home for my parents so that they can live in peace and without worry.  Then I focused on creating a family of my own that I now love and support like the Mission did for me.”
